The main conflict is the feud over the middle strip of land between the two landowner’s properties.
Describe the Climax of the Story:
The climax of the story is when they were expecting their men to rescue them, but instead, having the “figures” to be a pack of wolves. Which meant their ultimate death.
How does the Protagonist change over the course of the story?
Ulrich’s change is quite drastic actually. At the start he is full out wanting to kill the other man, but after they were stuck under the tree after a while he slowly thought things out reasonably and decided it was a stupid and pointless dispute, so deciding to reach out a hand of peace to end this fight.
Describe the relationship between the title and the theme.
Interlopers are defined as people who interfere with other's affairs for their own selfish reasons.The theme of this short story is about human's hate between each other and how much trouble it brings . This leaves me thinking people such as interlopers, especially since both sides are interlopers in the story, would often cause trouble and dispute with each other others and ultimately end up hating each other.
How does the main conflict help to illustrate the theme?
The main conflict of the story is the feud about the useless middle strip of land and who gets it, they have been fighting over the land for three generations with pointless disputes. This is the reason for the hate between the two families , even in the story it was stated that the land in the middle was bad for any hunting, they still continued the non-senscial fighting.
How does the climax help to illustrate the theme?
The climax, which is the wolves coming down the hill as they were pinned under the tree. illustrates the point i made about hate just bringing more trouble, if they had not hate they would not have confronted each other, ultimately preventing the incident.

fore shadowed the fact that he was going to meet the other man that night, and so later he did.
Irony:
They are hunters and in the end they were hunted down by wolves.
After they made peace they get eaten and the feud goes on.
Imagery:
a man stood one winter night watching listening, as though he waited for some beast of the woods to come within his vision.
Describe the relationships between the class theme and the story.
It just goes to show that hate is not logical in end all it took was 30minutes for him to realize the hate was illogical and they could be friends. Though hate is a bad thing it is still a piece of what we humans are, this is the connection is see to our class theme"humanity".
